Workshop: Technology Foresight Group | Putting Workers First

At the end of August 2025, we hosted 19 members of the Technology Foresight Group (TFG), created as part of our “Putting Workers First: Anticipating the Impact of Generative AI on the Entertainment Industry in India” project, for an in-person workshop at our Goa office.

The TFG consists of labour representatives, creative professionals, technologists, and researchers.

Over two days, we employed foresight methods such as scenario building, backcasting, and persona building to:

• Explore possible future scenarios for AI’s impact on the film and entertainment industry, including the new opportunities it enables.
• Identify opportunities for worker empowerment and resilience in the face of technological disruption.
• Develop policy and advocacy pathways that ensure technological innovation does not come at the cost of workers’ rights and well-being.
