Convening on Open Source AI and Digital Public Goods in India

As part of the development of the policy brief on Open Source AI and Digital Public Goods: Policy Options for India, Digital Futures Lab, with support from NASSCOM and “FAIR Forward – AI for All,” an initiative of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), hosted a day-long, in-person convening on July 3, at the NASSCOM offices in Noida.

We brought together members of the Working Group, with whom we have interacted virtually over the past several months under this initiative, and served as a space to collectively review, debate, and refine our emerging insights and recommendations.

We began by presenting preliminary findings from the project, followed by a series of discussions designed to sharpen our arguments and recommendations. Throughout the day, we encouraged participants to work collaboratively to distil concrete steps towards shaping a responsible, inclusive, and more open AI ecosystem for India.

Watch this space for more as we get develop the Brief and share it with you.
